Settings live in small separate preference panels. Open them from Preferences in the Deskbar menu. Each panel covers one topic, so you open the one you need and close it again.
The panels
- Appearance, Backgrounds and ScreenSaver for the look of the desktop.
- Screen for resolution, refresh rate and multiple displays.
- Deskbar and Tracker for the panel and the file manager.
- Keymap, Input and Shortcuts for keyboard and mouse.
- Locale and Time for language, formats, time zone and clock.
- Network and Bluetooth for connections.
- Media and Sounds for audio and video devices and system sounds.
- Power for battery status and screen brightness.
- Printers, Joysticks, Camera, Notifications, DataTranslations, FileTypes and User for the rest.
Where are the settings stored?
Your settings are small files in your home folder. See the path mapping on the Filesystem Layout page. System-wide configuration lives under /etc.
